Kestrel 2500手持式气象仪具有Kestrel 2000的所有功能，并增加了大气压和海拔高度的测量。一个趋势箭头可以显示大气压值是增加、降低或者保持平稳状态，当NK2500关机的情况下，大气压的监测依然在进行。 Kestrel 2500可以以数字形式直接显示当前海拔高度值，适用于爬山、登高等等户外活动。Kestrel 2500是旋转风杯式风速仪，体积小巧，方便携带。采用高精度轴承，轻量叶轮，可测量风速值，即便是在风速很小的情况下。如果叶轮损坏，可更换。内置温度和大气压传感器。

Kestrel 2500采用低功耗微处理器，明亮LCD显示，可读取当前风速、更大风速、平均风速并能选择风速单位。对于夜晚黑暗使用环境，NK2500草绿色版本还特别增加设计了红色背景光，可提供照明。采用标准锂电池，可更换，能保证操作至少300小时。如果风速仪在过45分钟都没有任何操作的话，将会自动切断电源。便携式包装，防水、防震设计，能飘浮在水上。

Kestrel Meter 2500 Weather Meter

The Kestrel 2500 Pocket Weather Meter measures wind and temperature with total accuracy, and has the added benefits of an air pressure sensor that provides altitude and barometric information. Kestrel 2500 technology enables you to follow changes in air pressure that help predict impending changes in the weather. Factor in the 2500's digital altimeter, and you have most of the weather information you need for outdoor activities ranging from model airne flight to rifle practice.

As with all our Kestrels, the 2500's sensitive and user-receable impeller technology provides accurate wind speed info. Additionally, an external temperature sensor and waterproof casing allow you to gauge the temperature of water (it even floats) and snow, as well as the open air. A hard slide-on case, lanyard, and battery are included.

The Kestrel 2500 was originated as a basic model for long range shooters at an affordable price and someone who didn't need the ballistic features build in like the 5700 Elite.  A simple video shows how to achieve station pressure with a Kestrel 2500. 

For those using it at night, the Olive Drab NV version of the Kestrel 2500 features a night-vision preserving backlight. Backlight incorporates optical filter to reduce overall brightness and minimize blue and green spectrum light to preserve night vision.  (Note: This backlight appears soft greyish pink, not "red", and is still in the visible spectrum, so is not compatible with night-vision equipment.)
