声光偏转器的物理特点是它的光孔径大小,高(H);宽(D)。通常,因为性能和设计的局限性,光的宽度要大于高度。因此,激光的输入和输出需要圆柱体的光学将偶然光从一个环形光转变成一个变短的长方形光,然后经过偏转器再返回到环形光。这个输出的光通常聚焦到发生片状的环形光上又在输出片上形成线形的焦点。
