全自动平衡光学互相关器TCBOC可以高精度的检测两个中心波长相同/不同的光脉冲序列之间的相对时延。由于采用了平衡的方案，TCBOC具有的定时灵敏度、定时分辨率、幅值不变性和对环境波动的鲁棒性。它产生与相对时延成比例的基带电压信号，然后可以在配置中使用该信号来同步具有不同波长的两个光源(例如将Ti:Sapph振荡器锁定到时间稳定链路的输出)。
